Cookie Policy

SteamStats uses strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your cookie choice. Settings you change in the app, such as the theme, stay in your browser. Analytics cookies are off unless you allow them, and no advertising cookies are used. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings in the footer.

1. What this policy covers

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Local storage is a similar browser feature that keeps settings on your device. This policy covers both, on steamstats.io and in the SteamStats app, and forms part of our Privacy Policy.

Last updated: 2 November 2026.

2. Categories

  • Strictly necessary: sign-in, security and remembering your cookie choice. Always on, because the site cannot work as you ask without them.
  • Preferences: settings you change in the app, such as the theme, chart date ranges and recent searches. They are stored only when you change a setting, stay in your browser and are not sent to us.
  • Analytics: help us understand which pages and features are used. Off by default and used only if you allow them. Not active today; this policy will list their cookies before analytics is switched on.
  • Advertising: none. SteamStats uses no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

5. Third-party cookies

When you open checkout in the app, Paddle's payment window loads from Paddle and may set its own cookies to process the payment and prevent fraud. Paddle is the merchant of record, and its cookie policy applies to those cookies. SteamStats sets no other third-party cookies.

6. Analytics, once switched on

When we switch on product analytics, we plan to use PostHog's EU cloud, hosted in Frankfurt, Germany. Its script will load only after you allow analytics, and it stops loading on your next page view if you withdraw consent. Before it goes live, this policy will list its cookies, their duration and whether IP addresses are stored.

7. Your choices

  • On your first visit, a bar at the bottom of the page offers Accept all, Necessary only and Settings. Necessary only is as easy as Accept all, and nothing beyond strictly necessary cookies is set until you choose.
  • Settings shows each category: strictly necessary is always on, and analytics stays off until you turn it on.
  • Cookie settings, in the footer of the public pages, reopens the bar so that you can change or withdraw your choice at any time.
  • We ask again after six months, or sooner if we add a category.
  • You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; blocking strictly necessary cookies stops sign-in from working.

8. Changes and contact

We update this policy when the cookies or storage we use change; the date at the top of the page shows the latest review. Questions: support@steamstats.io.
