Free Steam calculators for game developers
Five free calculators for the numbers Steam developers work out by hand: net revenue after refunds, VAT, Valve's share and US withholding; a first-week sales band from launch wishlists; the review label buffer; the next allowed discount date; and tracked UTM store links. Each shows its formula, its sources with check dates and its limits.

How these calculators work
Every calculator opens with a worked example for Pebblewick, a fictional game by Hollow Fern Games, so the result is on the page before anything is typed. The calculation runs in the browser and nothing entered is saved or sent. Rules come from Valve's Steamworks documentation; figures Valve does not publish, such as the review label thresholds and wishlist conversion ratios, are marked with the study or community source and the date they were checked.
- Net revenue calculatorFree calculator: Steam gross revenue to net to studio after refunds, VAT, Valve's 30.00%, 25.00% or 20.00% share and US withholding.
- Wishlist conversion estimatorFree estimator: turn launch wishlists into a Low, Expected and High first-week sales band from GameDiscoverCo and Gamalytic studies.
- Review buffer calculatorFree calculator: enter positive and negative Steam reviews to see the label, the negatives it can absorb and the positives needed for the next label.
- Discount cooldown plannerFree planner: enter a release date, launch discount, last discount and price change to see when Steam allows the next discount and which seasonal sales fit.
- UTM link builderFree builder for tracked Steam store links: add utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign to a store page address in the form Steam's UTM report reads.
