How SteamStats defines a day
Every day in SteamStats starts at midnight in the time zone set for your organization in Settings › General. Charts, tables, exports and alerts all count days and hours in that zone, including reports Steam keeps on its own calendar, so daily totals and hourly views always add up.

The time zone setting
Owners and admins pick the organization's time zone in Settings › General, where every time zone is listed. Changing it recalculates daily sales in the new zone straight away and starts a new forecast run.
Today is always a partial day. Charts draw it as a dotted segment or an open point until the day ends.
Launch day is the date of your launch time in your zone, and Day N since launch counts your days.
Numbers with a time stamp
Wishlists, hourly sales, reviews, player counts, followers, Community Hub posts and store-list samples arrive with a time, so SteamStats cuts them exactly at your midnight.
Numbers Steam gives per day only
Some Steamworks breakdowns follow Steam's own calendar: sales by country and by package, refunds, wishlist deletions by country, traffic and UTM. SteamStats lines each of them up with your days, so they sit on the same dates as the rest of your charts.
Daily totals, hourly views and breakdowns always agree: a country table for a day sums to the daily chart for that same day.
The forecast
Changing your time zone does not change the forecast itself, only how its days are shown. Every forecast day appears in your days, next to the actual sales it is compared with.
Payout months
Valve closes each payout month at midnight Pacific time. The payout calendar names that month, and its totals match Valve's own month.
